Diploma Programme (DP) Age 16-19 B. Subjects

Research highlights that the Diploma Program (DP) offers a wide range of benefits. The goal of the program is to help students grow into well-rounded individuals—developing strong knowledge across subjects while also building physical, intellectual, emotional, and ethical strengths.

Subject Groups

IB Diploma Program Curriculum

The Diploma Programme (DP) is designed around six subject groups along with the DP core, which includes Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS), and the Extended Essay.

Through this programme, students are encouraged to reflect on their learning, carry out independent research, and take on meaningful projects—many of which connect to community service.

The DP curriculum combines these six subject groups with the core, giving students both depth and balance in their studies. The three core components are especially important, as they help broaden students’ perspectives and push them to apply what they’ve learned in real-world situations.

Assessment

The Diploma Programme (DP) assessment is designed to evaluate how well students have built strong academic skills while working toward their learning goals. It focuses on areas such as:

  • Interpreting and presenting data clearly

  • Building and analyzing discussions

  • Applying creative approaches to problem-solving

In addition, the assessment also looks at essential abilities like:

  • Retaining and applying knowledge

  • Developing a deep understanding of concepts

  • Using structured design in practical situations

The DP assessment goes beyond academics by encouraging students to think globally, socially, and critically wherever possible.

Importantly, student results are based on clear performance standards rather than comparing them to their peers, ensuring a fair and meaningful evaluation of their achievements.

Using Both Internal And External Evaluations

In the Diploma Programme (DP), the IB uses a mix of external and internal assessments to measure student learning.

For most subjects, examinations are the main form of assessment because they provide a fair and reliable way to evaluate performance. These exams may include a variety of tasks, such as:

  • Writing essays

  • Solving structured problems

  • Answering short-response questions

  • Interpreting data

  • Responding to texts

  • Working through case studies

  • Multiple-choice questions (though these are used only occasionally)

What is T.E.S.T?

T.E.S.T is our innovative and interactive teaching methodology designed to ensure that students are not only well-prepared for exams but also develop strong time-management skills and excellent evaluation abilities. Our approach focuses on:

  • Theoretical Foundation – Building a solid framework of core concepts for better understanding.

  • Explanatory Learning – Simplifying complex topics through clear and engaging video lessons.

  • Concept Strengthening – Reinforcing knowledge to improve retention and long-term recall.

  • Time-Bound Test Series – Providing ample practice under exam-like conditions to boost confidence and accuracy.

Aarav, MYP StudentMedium (Student – MYP, Grade 9)
I always felt IB maths was too abstract.. I didn’t know how to connect it. My teacher here showed me simple patterns and gave me small practice sets. Slowly it clicked, and I actually started enjoying problem solving
Mrs. Fernandes, ParentMedium (Parent – DP Student)
My daughter was drowning in EE and TOK stress. Honestly we as parents couldn’t help much. These 1-1 classes gave her guidance but also calm. She started planning properly and her stress reduced so much
Riya, PYP StudentShort (Student – PYP, Grade 5)
I like that teacher lets me explain my ideas even if they’re wrong first. It makes learning fun.”
Daniel, DP StudentShort (Student – DP, Year 2)
The biggest help was IA feedback. Teacher pointed out what examiner wants, I fixed it and felt so much better.
Ananya, MYP StudentShort (Student – MYP)
In school I was too shy to ask doubts. In 1-to-1 I ask everything, even silly things. That made me improve fast.
